Bert Schiettecatte was born in Ghent, Belgium and has a passion for electronic music, musical instruments, and engineering. During his Master's degree in Computer Science at the University of Brussels (VUB) he worked in various web technology companies and a U.S. company designing audio signal processing software. After completing a Master of Arts in Music, Science and Technology at Stanford University's Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics (CCRMA), and returned to Belgium to found Percussa, a small audio electronics company, with the mission "to design and market the electronic musical instruments of the future".
