Hans Abbing

Hans Abbing writes on the economy of the arts and has written several books, most notably Why are artists poor? on University of Amsterdam Press (2002) and Value of Art, A Sociological Study of Art and the Arts-Economy, University of Amsterdam Press (2012). He is Professor of Sociology of Art at the Faculty of Social and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Amsterdam, and in the Cultural Studies Department at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam.
