Noortje Marres works as a Marie Curie Research Fellow in the sociology department of Goldsmiths, University of London. Her current research focuses on climate change and material practices of citizenship. It examines how eco-homes, and domestic energy technologies more broadly, work and fail to work as technologies of civic involvement. in this issue.

In 2005, she received a Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Amsterdam with the dissertation No Issue, No Public: Democratic Deficits after the Displacement of Politics. She has published work in Making Things Public (MIT Press, 2005), Reformatting Politics (Routledge, 2006) and Nongovernmental Politics (Zone Books, 2007). With V2_, she published There is Drama in Networks in Interact or Die! (2007). She is an editor of two Dutch journals, Krisis and De Gids.
