Sam Auinger has been intensively involved with questions of composition, computer music, sound design and psychoacoustics. He works for film, theater, radio, video, exhibitions and festivals in Europe and North America .

A selection of his projects include: Sound design for stage settings since 1989, eg. for Peter Seller's Perser, Salzburg Festival, collaborations with the American Bruce Odland most recently at "Sound Art '95", Hannover; "Ars Electronica '95", Linz and "Spiel Art '95", Munich; 1995 "Flugstunden", Installation, Wiener Secession.

Sam Auinger lives in Linz and New York.
