Walter van der Cruijsen (1958) studied History at KUN Nijmegen and Fine Arts at HDK Arnhem. In late 1993 he was co-founder of the digital city (DDS) and initiated the Desk media lab in 1994, both in Amsterdam. Since 1995 he has realized several netbased art projects at the Center for Arts and Media (ZKM) in Karlsruhe. He served as a curator for the World Wide Video Festival in 1998 and "net_condition" at the ZKM in 1999 and 2000.
