Gerald van der Kaap: Chill Cave (1992) at V2_

The Chill Caves can best be described as subliminal electronic comfort in bed. The Chill Caves are installations where the audience can lie down on a bed. Once lying down, a tube is placed over the head. In the tube can be seen video images which change with a certain regularity. This activates certain brainwaves (frequencies) which can lead to a relaxed feeling.

An artist in residence workshop with good technical facilities in the Tokyo Art Lab, courtesy of Canon, Kaap designed his Chill Caves in cooperation with Peter Giele.
