Compactor {The Machine}

With the increase of televised information the need arises to find a way for the viewer to process this information faster. This installation makes the images more compact so that it can be transmitted in just a fraction of the original time. Compactor is able to compress 24 hours of broadcasting in a transmission of just 144 seconds. Different genres of television programming (talk show, news, sport, documentary, porno, action, etc.) can be selected and replayed at five different speeds. This crash of TV-images in fast forward seems difficult to get used to but it could make television once again a pleasurable pastime with high information content.
