Matt Heckert started in 1988-89 building this work, also known as Automated Sound Orchestra. 2500 kg of machine parts were shipped to be assembled into instruments in the V2_building. The 'music machines' were computer controlled. Large steel rings (1,5 meter in diameter) turned on a large steel table. Large latex skins, stretched over steel cylinders (3 meters long and 1 meter in diameter) produced very low notes that vibrated in the lower abdomen.
