By linking and controlling seven analog tape recording machines, playing tape loops several tens of meters in length, a dynamical machine was designed which used acoustical sounds as a basis for extremely complicated sound processing. Based on the linear structure of tape recorders, the installation, using feedback techniques, displays an interactive system in which input information (acoustic sounds) starts leading a life of its own.
