Hein Wils is an 'old school' new media professional operating in the field of immersive and innovative media. As project leader of ARtours (by the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam), he explores the possibilities of augmented reality on mobile devices with AR browsers like the LAYAR browser.
The Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam has a world famous modern and contemporary art collection consisting of more than 100.000 works. The ARtours project utilizes this content, and the stories surrounding these works, in order to make compelling tours in- and outside the museum.
In the past Hein Wils has worked for LostBoys Interactive, Waag Society and the Dutch broadcaster VARA.
Hein Wils and Jan Rothuizen will present the work realized for the Stedelijk ARtours project during the Test_Lab: Tools for ARt on December 16, 2010.
