location: Aawal 2a, Den Bosch

During this event, the opening of V2's second space at Muntelstraat 25/Aawal 2a, with the title The function of sound, several actions, performances and concerts took place. The Dutch artist Victor Notermans exhibited his sculptural installations, or sound objects, environments.

The performance part of the event consisted of a concert-film by Strafe für Rebellion Tausend Köpfe rollen gerne, a concert by the Dutch guitarist Jan de Jong, another by Kawazu, Bean & Mol (which stands for Marie Kawazu, Anne Bean and Kees Mol); a poetry action by Didi de Paris, and a sound-performance by the Belgian duo Club Moral, Anne-Mie Van Kerckhoven and Danny Devos. The Simulated Woods, part of the program, did not participate due to sickness.

De funktie van geluid received mixed reviews at the time, one review from the Brabants Dagblad titled its article "Balanceren of het randje van de onzin" (=Balancing on the edge of nonsense), to which Alex Adriaansens responded.

The V2-Archief released a compilation of the event on tape V203.
